2014
2013 is over and 2014 is just beginning. There are so many things to say and do. I want to get more organized, lose some weight, spend more quality time with my family and friends. I want to read more books and learn new things. So I need to find a way to get all this done in a short 365 days!!! I am going to start by watching less TV, spending less time on the internet, and having my children help out more around the house. That way we will all have more time together. I am going to write on my blog more often as well. There is much to do!! I am going to get started, I will let you know how it goes. I hope to report good things!!! Here is to 2014!!!!!

November!!!!! How can it be???!!!!!
Wow, I am amazed at how fast time passes without knowing it. I had no idea it had been since February since I posted last!! Crazy!!! Anyways, lots has happened since then!!! I graduated from the nursing program!! Can you believe it?? Sometimes I still can't!!! But I must have because I am working at Caribou Memorial Hospital in Soda Springs, Idaho. It is a little rural hospital and I am loving every minute of it. Is it hard? Yes. Is it frustrating? Yes. Would I want to be working as an RN anywhere else? NO!! I am learning so much and am surrounded by the most fabulous nurses!! I have seen some pretty crazy things and every day is a new adventure. I have worked in almost every area of the hospital already!!! I am excited to continue learning new things and continue my career. I want to thank all my family and friends that helped me get to this point!! Especially my loving and ever supportive husband, Les, he worked so hard so I could go to school and not have to worry about having to work and try to go to school at the same time. And then to my sweet children and how they did without a sane mother for so long (not that I am sane now, but maybe a little closer to sane). And then to my sisters and my friends that are close enough to be sisters and all the help they provided me in watching my kids or just keeping me positive!! THANKS to all of you, I love you and could not have accomplished this without you!!

Sunshine, good ol' fashioned sunshine...
Sunshine, that is what I am in major need of. If the sun doesn't come back to Idaho soon, I will be leaving to find it, and I might not come back. I am over these long, horrid, cold winters here. I need to go somewhere warm, somewhere dry, somewhere that the sun shines most of the year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am severely lacking vitamin D and serotonin. I am cranky and tired and I just don't want to do anything. They only cure is the sun!!!!!!!! I am going to be graduating soon from the ISU nursing program, in May of this year, so in just a couple months. I just might decide to uproot my family and move somewhere warmer, somewhere that the sun shines and I don't have to deal with this seasonal depression, I know it won't fix everything, but at least I won't have to deal with this lack of sunshine. I will research some places to move to and keep you updated, but I am pretty convinced that I need to goooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crazy how time flies!!
Wow, somehow, someway, time has hit warp speed. It is January 2013! I missed wishing my sweet Brookie Lu a "Happy 9th Birthday"!! I missed posting about Christmas and Halloween and two visits from my sweet sister Lori. Crazy. I just don't know where all the time goes. But I am trying to focus on being a better me. A better me, for me, for my kids, and for my husband. I am trying to focus on the now, the present. It is hard, but that is my mission, and to simplify my life. I have been reading a lot on that, simplifying. It is an interesting subject and something I feel I have been craving. To simplify, I first need to learn to let go. Something that I am not good at but am trying to get better. I have been reading a blog that the author has dedicated to this subject, I find it enthralling. I will tell you more about him later. I just really felt like I needed to check in, write a blarb, and get back to trying to understand this crazy life that I live. I will be writing a bit more this year, so be sure to check in a little more often, you will be surprised!!!

APRIL!!!!!!!!!
Wow, well, I missed March!! But I am here in April!!! April, the month that my sweet little boy Cooper was born!!! So I thought I would post a little snippet about my little man!! Cooper will be 3 this month, but I am sure he thinks he is 14!!! In fact I know he does because he tells me everyday how old he is and it is always 14 or 16!! hahahahaha!! He loves monster trucks!! Or any other truck or car or motorcycle or four-wheeler, or bike or pretty much anything with wheels or a motor!!! He is very funny and very observant. He saw a UPS truck just the other day while we were on our way to daycare, he said to me "hey look Mom, a CHOCOLATE BUS!!!!" hahahahahaha!! Too funny!!! For his birthday we are going to take him to a Monster Truck show at Holt Arena!! He should have so much fun, I am sure he will be so giddy that he won't know what to do with his self!! Then for his birthday we will be giving him a battery powered (because we are afraid to give him anything more powerful than that) four-wheeler that he can ride on in the back yard!! It should be a great time!! Happy Birthday Cooper-man!!!!!!!! We love you and can't imagine how dull our lives would be without you!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for being so awesome!!!!!!!!!

It's February....again....
I do not like this month. I used to. But not anymore. There is good reason for not liking this month anymore however. It's Mom's birthday and the anniversary of her passing. Sucks. It is another testament that life is not fair. I really would like to fight for that though. Life should be fair and everything should work out the way we would like it to! But obviously that is not the case. I try to accept it and move on, but I can't seem to. I still want to turn back time and make different decisions and make my Mom make different decisions in hopes that now would be different and I would still have her here. But I guess who is to say that she would still be here even if we changed the decisions we made. I am pretty sure she would have just been taken from us in a different way. I guess when your time is up, it is up. Again, not fair. I think about what happens when we die and what is waiting for us on the other side. I am sure our loved ones are there waiting, which makes dieing not a bad thing. Which I am sure that some may think I am crazy and a little sick when I say I am ready for that day. I am not suicidal, please don't think that, I would never do anything to take my own life, I am just not afraid of death or dieing. I would be sad for my kids and my husband and other family and friends that I left behind, because I do know how bad that hurts to be left behind, but I will not be sad or scared for myself. Life is hard, it is beautiful at times, but it is hard. A struggle, and it is NOT fair in any way, shape, or form. So death is just our way of beating life and it's unfairness!! Ha, life, take that!!! hahahahahaha! Okay, now I am talking crazy!!! I hope not too many people read this post. It was just some rambling thoughts that I needed to get out there!!! February sucks and that is that!!! I guess I will go stick my head in the sand like an ostrich and wait for it to be over and then I will come out again!!!

Holy Ravioli BATMAN!!!!
Has it really been over a year since I blogged?? That is BAD!! How did I let a year go by and not at least check in!!!??? Well I will tell you why, NURSING SCHOOL AND A TWO YEAR OLD will suck the life out of you!!!!! It is true, they are both hard and challenging "things" and to have them at the same time is insane. So yes, I am insane. At least I feel like I am. Some people think that I am not, at least that is what they say to my face!! hahahahahaha, maybe they are just afraid that if they tell me the truth that I will hurt them or cry!! hahahahaha, both are probably true to an extent!!! I am really sad that I have not said much about last year, so many good things happened with all that insanity, but of course now that it is past, it is hard to remember it. Hmmmmmmm, I guess last year will have to remain a blur and I will just have to pick up from here and start again.....
Les is 40 now. He turned 40 on January 9th. We did not celebrate it though, he is choosing to observe it in May or July when the weather is nicer. He feels that he was ripped off as a child having a winter birthday so now that he is older he thinks he will make up for it. It is funny, I go along with it!
I am 34 (will be 35 next month) and am now considered a Junior in the nursing program. Only 3 semesters to go!! Whoot whoot!! Holding on for dear life until May 2013!!! I try my best to do all the homework and studying and all that while trying to keep up with Brook and Cooper and Les. It is a juggling act for sure and I am not great at it. But I try, and I guess that is worth something.
Brook is 8. She is so smart and loving and kind. I love her so much. She is also a little crazy, thanks to the Sorensen genes that flow through her veins and moves at the speed of cold tar on Christmas day!! Which I also blame on the Sorensen gene pool, and let's not forget the slight hoarding tendencies, which also belong to the Sorensens!!! I really should have done a little research on those Sorensens before saying "I Do"!!!! I kid, I kid!!! Sheesh, some people just can't take a joke!! hahahahahahahaha!!
And then we have Cooper. Will be 3 in April. 200% Sorensen Boy. Enough said. Love him to death, but he is ssssssooooooooooooooooooooo naughty and sweet at the same time.
So that is where we are. I will try to do better this year at checking in at least once a week or month or quarter, but don't hold me to that, you know, I have good intentions, just not great follow-through!! Love you all!!!!!!
